Compadres Sweep Their Way to Underdog Championship

The defending champion Compadres successfully repeated their title by defeating the top seeds in the playoffs, becoming the first back-to-back Champions in league history.  In the league's first ever three round playoff format, the Compadres, as the #3 seed, had to win three games to take home the title. 

The Foursquares and Dreamers went home after the first round as expected at the hands of the Compadres and Pathfinders, respectively.  In the second round, the #1 seed Apostles easily defeated the Pathfinders to advance to the Finals.  In the other semifinal game, the Compadres came from behind to upset the #2 seed Cronies.  The bats of the Compadres came alive midgame, and the Cronies were helpless to defend against them.

The momentum carried over into the Championship Game for the Compadres, as they jumped out to a quick 16-0 lead on the #1 seed Apostles.  In the third inning, the Apostles finally started to hit, but the lead was too great, and the Compadres won the game 26-12. 

The title is the third in the last four seasons for the Compadres.  The temperature as the game ended just before 10:00pm was 47 degrees.
