It has been Pastor Johnny and Mindi’s dream to plant a church in Tucson for many years. Their dream became a reality in June of 2005 when he and his family moved from Hayward, CA, to establish Pathway of Hope.

The Johnsons served as pastors of New Hope Christian Fellowship, Hayward, CA, from 2000 to 2005. They served as ministers of music at Faith Center Church in Eureka, CA, from 1992 to 2000. Both Johnny and Mindi are licensed and ordained pastors.

Johnny is an adjunct professor at Patten University in Oakland, CA, and Life Pacific College in San Dimas, CA, teaching and designing online classes. He holds a Doctor of Ministry and has recently completed his PhD. Mindi received her Bachelors in Practical Ministry from Wagner Leadership Institute.

Q & A

Q: Pastor Johnny, when and how did you develop a heart for Tucson?
A: I was raised in the Northern California coastal town, Eureka. I first visited Tucson in the early 90s, and I thought it was heaven. Saguaros, the sunsets, the painted sky, the monsoon rains... My wife and I would visit Tucson every year, since she has family here. By the end of the 90s I was praying that Tucson would someday become my home.
